All at Ellis Building Services have been extremely busy over the last several months, carrying out multiple COVID-19 related projects and infrastructure works across both the NHS and Private Healthcare sites.
We are very proud of Senior management, site supervisors, engineers, specialist contractors and of course our key supply chain for the effort and continued professionalism and support throughout this period.
Below are just some of the works our onsite teams have and are currently involved with.
RFH Nuclear Medicine
EBS are carrying out works for the new Nuclear Medicine Department designed by BSL. The project involves the refurbishment of the Ground Floor of the Nuclear Medicine Department, to form new spaces for the installation of 1No. new SPECT/CTs, 2No. new Gamma Cameras and the relocation of an existing Gamma Camera. The works also include for the formation of associated ancillary rooms.
Phase 1 – Installation of a new SPECT/CT, new Gamma Camera, Control Rooms & Ancillary areas. Phase 1 to include infrastructure services for Phases 2 and 3.
RFH IRCU Major
EBS with will be carrying the new Interventional Radiology and Cardiology Unit (IRCU) Department designed by BSL. The project scope is to refurbish all of the 5No. Labs and adjacent multi-bedded bay unit including the replacement of all imaging equipment by Siemens to the current facilities within the IRCU department
RFH In patient pharmacy
EBS are carrying out new mechanical and electrical services works designed by RSP. The works comprise of the removal of the existing wall mounted chilled water air conditioning units within all areas of the ground floor where new air conditioning units are being installed. New refrigerant based 3 No External VRF Heat Pump Units shall be installed within the ground floor rooms in the locations indicated on the drawings and a VRF condenser with a BC box installed at the lower ground floor level for the future installation of indoor units on the lower ground floor level.
RFH H-West Theatre Cooling Works
EBS have been appointed main contractor at the Royal Free Hospital to carry out H-West Theatre Cooling project alongside designers RSP. This project includes the supply and installation of 10no new 90kW heat pump modules to supply a dedicated chilled water supply to a number of air handling units serving the operating theatre department of the hospital. The new chilled water circuit is designed to take the aforementioned AHUs off the main central RFH chilled water circuit and give the theatre AHUs their own dedicated CHW circuit along with new BMS systems
RFH The Grove Chiller Replacement
EBS have been appointed main contractor at the Royal Free Hospital to carry out to replace, the faulty Galetti Chiller. We will replacing the existing chiller with a new Daikin chiller which will be located on the 8th Floor. The works will include replacement the existing valves and pipework along with new BMS works and modifications.
BMI Hendon
EBS are currently carrying out a new boiler room fit out, with the full design has been carried out by RSP. The mechanical and electrical services works are associated with the removal and replacement of the existing 3 No gas fired boilers within the basement level plantroom and the replacement of the existing domestic direct gas fired hot water services calorifiers for plate heat exchangers and a buffer vessel with associated controls installations/modifications.
RMH Sutton Stem Cells
EBS are carrying out new mechanical works again designed by RSP. The works comprise the refurbishment of Stem Cell Office, together with upgrading works in adjacent rooms and gantry plant area within the Stem Cell Laboratory. The new 12 person office, Manager’s Office, Unclassified Lab/Reception and Staff Room/Kitchenette will be provided with fresh air by a new air handling unit. There will be new fully flat cassette units installed as part of a new VRV air conditioning system with the refrigerant pipework connected to a new rooftop condenser unit. The new AC system will be a 3-pipe simultaneous heating and cooling system within a branch selector box to allow all areas heating or cooling at all times
