EBS are excited to get this project moving, with our structural bases now complete, we will soon have steel works in place in readiness for our mechanical plant to be sited.
Works are specifically located on the podium roof (Level 4) adjacent to the H West plant room.
This project includes the supply and installation of 12no new 90kW heat pump modules to supply a dedicated chilled water supply to a number of air handling units serving the operating theatre department of the hospital. The new chilled water circuit is designed to take the aforementioned AHUs off the main central RFH chilled water circuit and give the theatre AHUs their own dedicated CHW circuit. Connection with the main circuit will not be broken, but have valves installed which will allow isolation from the main circuit in normal operation, however it will be able to be easily reconnected to the main circuit if required in cases of emergency.
The 10no chiller modules are to be installed and supported on a steel plant platform. This steel platform is also to be used to support the ancillary CHW equipment such as circulating pumps, pressurisation unit, side stream filtration unit and MCCP. For the sake of preservation of the equipment, this ancillary equipment is to be supplied in a GRP housing. This GRP housing to also to be built on the steel platform.
Pipework is to run from the chiller modules into the H-West level 4 ventilation plantroom. Here the CHW pipework is to be connected into the existing CHW pipework to feed the AHUs CHW from the newly installed circuit. The existing circuit is to have isolation values installed on it in order to shut off supply from the main RFH circuit, but the option remains to re-supply CHW from this circuit if required. Extra redundancy is also added into the system via temporary chiller connection points on the low loss header.
The MCCP will control the chiller modules and associated ancillary equipment. Along with the installation of the MCCP, all plant shall be linked to main BMS designed with its on graphics and linked back to the main site supervisor.
